The Forsyth County Board of Education consists of five members who are elected by district to staggered, four-year terms.

Highlights Of Presentation And Discussion Items

The following items were presented to the Board:

Finance Report -

As of September 30, 2020 the Board learned the system is at 15.66 percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for September 2020 were up 44.47 percent from 2019 collections and up 28.93 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis.

Redistricting Timeline -

Joey Pirkle, Deputy Superintendent, presented the Redistricting Draft Map to populate Hendricks Middle School and East Forsyth High School which will open August 2021.

East High School Update -

Jeff Cheney, Principal East High School, presented an update on the construction process and course offerings for East which will open August 2021. The complete update can be found on East Forsyth's page on Forsyth County Schools website.
